Mega-Mall @ "Suria KLCC" at the base of the Twin-Towers is > 1 million sq ft

Dear friends,
I finally made that trip to Kuala Lumpur (West Malaysia) after reading so much about the KLCC Petronas Twin Towers and the mega shopping malls sprouting all around KL.
My trips to West Malaysia have so far focussed on the town of Malacca, and if further north onwards to Awana at Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands, by-passing the capital KL, known for its road jams. A point to point Coach service from Singapore to KL has facilitated this trip.
As you know, the project at KL Convention Centre is funded by Petronas, Malaysia State-owned Oil Company and which occupies Tower 1 of the Twin-Towers. It is connected by a sky-bridge at the 42/43 storey to Tower 2 where visitors are allowed there free-of-charge!
Mega-malls are big businesses in KL and more and more Singapore retailers are heading north. The latest to open during my visit is The Pavillion, which houses 1.4 million sq ft and 450 higher end retailers. With the unofficial pegging of the Malaysian Ringgit to the US$, and the MR currently at S$0.45, KL is worth a visit for shopping and eating.
So, for those who like me have been reading about KL but not the ocassion to do a first hand visit, here are some snapshots for your peek tour.
As usual my friend, your comments are most welcome and anticipated, and just a reminder to click on the images to enlarge it.
Cheers and Blessings,
Anthony

Sorry you can't detect my comments. As I mentioned, you should visit PUTRAJAYA, the administrative centre where many government offices are located. You can take a taxi, bargain for a return trip with some time for you to take photos there (all in about 2 hrs will suffice). The lake area, mosque, buildings and bridges are quite impressive. Try it next visit. You won't regret it.

Hello Felix,

Thanks for the suggestion to visit the centre of Government offices at PUTRAJAYA. I understand that it is a very picturesque place and will definately include it at my next KL trip. Surprisingly, Malaysian tourist promotional material, which floods the media here barely mention about visiting Putrajaya......I wonder why?

I heard that KL by night has a special buzz......does anyone reading this have special night spots to highlight....don't worry not a loaded query?

Hi Anthony, Thanks for sharing your photos. Though I'm not particularly keen on KL scenes,I'm impressed with your photographic and descriptive skills. Wonder if you'd be keen to see photography or participate in such exhibitions to upgrade your skill. I know that Ngee Ann Kongsi organizes one every year. I'll let you know when they are organizing the next. All the best, Beng Huat

Hello Beng Huat,

Glad that your comments finally came through, and that you enjoyed the photos. KL does have a colour and charactor of its own. I did not mention the food, like the Soup Kambing and the range of Roti Plata (or Chenai which they call it)fillings which includes kosong, eggs, onions, sardines, banana, etc, and also Madam Kwan's Nasi Lemak. Did I mention that the sight of the Petronas Twin Towers was 'awesome'@ night with the bright lightings plunging into the sky.

Participate in photographic exhibitions?.....you must be kidding, but I would be glad to accompany you to the next Ngee An Kongsi function.

Thanks again for your comments.

Anthony
